The Role

FinMkt VP of Sales & Business Development, is responsible for partnering with the Product Team to define new products and services to help facilitate growth of the FinMkt distribution partner network, while prospecting for and cultivating new multi-year partner opportunities.

General Responsibilities

  • Create, develop and grow a prospect pipeline to drive acquisition of new relationships.
  • Develop relationships with C-level management of identified industry prospects (merchants, sponsors, large e-commerce businesses, etc.).
  • Conduct strategic account planning for targeted prospects to 1) Explore and prioritize opportunities; 2) Develop prospecting approach and value proposition tailored to specific client requirements; 3) Identify internal and external resources required; and 4) Formulate action plans and timelines.
  • Lead expansion into digital commerce, focusing on etailer prospect opportunities.
  • Structure, negotiate and close multi-year merchant, retailer and sponsorship agreements. These include acquisitions, start-ups and other financing and servicing opportunities as appropriate.
  • Incorporate necessary compliance and regulatory controls in proposals and agreements in partnership with other departments as necessary (Credit, Risk, Compliance, Legal)
  • Conduct industry research and acquire feedback from distribution partners (voice of customer).
  • Provide insight to product team to assist in the development of new products and services.
  • Prospect activities include industry and company research, presentations, trade shows and sales activity reporting.
  • Prospect negotiations include operational considerations, financial deal structure and other terms as applicable.
  • May be assigned other projects or need to perform other duties as necessary.


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Finance, Marketing, Business)
  • Must have at least 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of business-to-business sales experience preferably at the C-Level
  • Minimum of 5 years cross-functional team management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in Consumer Lending
